Blessed with a colorful historical background, Sivasagar was the capital of the Ahom rulers for six centuries, which ended with the arrival of British in the 19th century. Hometown to many renowned personalities in Assamese music and culture, literature and politics, Sivasagar is a cradle of diversified culture, tribes and religion. And despite of all diversities, it stands unique, reflecting the image of a true Assamese Society. |
